For the holiday season, Leyla K. Desserts is honored to continue our collaboration with the family of celebrated Iranian artist Nasser Ovissi, bringing his distinctive artwork to life through a collection that celebrates Persian art, culture, and confectionery.

The Azadeh Collection is Leyla’s interpretation of a nostalgic Persian cookie, inspired by Nokhodchi. Tender and delicately sweet, each cookie features a soft chickpea-based center, finished with a smooth chocolate glaze and a touch of gold dust.

This season, each cookie mold features a woman with pomegranates, from Ovissi’s artwork. The female figure and the pomegranate are recurring motifs in his work, rich with cultural symbolism. Long associated with abundance, fertility, and life in Persian tradition, the pomegranate holds a particularly meaningful place in this collection.

Named after the Farsi word for freedom, the Azadeh Collection honors resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of Persian culture.

Each box is a keepsake in itself, adorned with Nasser Ovissi’s artwork and created in collaboration with his family. Together, the artwork, packaging, and confections offer a celebration of Persian heritage, made to be shared and cherished throughout the holiday season.
